For this assignment I decided to watch season 8, episode 11: Welcome To My Nightmare.
I found it interesting how different it was back then, from the outfits to the way they spoke. I had never watched or really heard about Happy Days before it was this years musical, but after watching this episode, I got more of a feel for what its going to look like.
In the episode I watched I mainly learned a lot about TV back then. I feel as if all of the acting was better than it is now. All of the ideas were new at the time, so I think back then when the show was new it must have been really good. but now it seems as if its been redone so may times that I've seen the show through other shows; if that makes sense.
In this episode it mainly revolves around Fonzie. Everyone's so focused on him and always asking him for stuff and he gets so tired and stressed that he actually gets sick!
While he is sick he starts watching a scary show and falls asleep.
He claims he doesn't dream, but when he falls asleep he ends up having a nightmare.
Anyways, when he wakes up we learn that he has been asleep for almost two days.
That's when Fonzie learns that his friends have been covering everything for him while he has been asleep, he learns that its give and take, and he needs his friends as much as they need him.
In this episode, there were no "Car Hop Girls". Although, I think in general it was a learning experience because I got to see how everyone acted back then in general.
People who play the main roles could really learn how to carry themselves and what it should look like. Everyone's much more modest and positive than they are now, and I think that's what needs to be remembered.
In the end I learned that the characters are very cool, and that the time when this show was made is completely different from this generation. every character in Happy Days has its own personality and over all I'm very excited to get to be a part of it.
I watched the same episode as you! There are no Car Hop Girls in the episode, but it's an interesting episode. We see a deeper part of Fonzie, and that Happy Days was made in a different generation, and I do agree that it was kinda like watching an episode with different cheesy bits, but hey, it was the fifties. Since we're both car hops, I can't wait to see how this works!
