1. I believe that I do embody the characteristics of a good musical theatre student.
When I come to practice on Sundays + Mondays I always have a great load of energy and I'm positive and willing to do anything, but that's mainly because I just enjoy musical theatre so much.
On Sundays I'm normally tired and feel lazy, but as soon as I get to rehearsal my energy rises and I'm just happy to be surrounded by all the friends I've made!
I am always willing to take orders I have from anyone to ensure that my part in the musical gets done right, and I always have a positive attitude about it. If a part in a song or a routine gets changed, I am willing to make adjustments right away.
I also am very imaginative when it comes to musical theatre, I imagine how specific dances will look like as I am learning them, and always looking for ways to improve myself.
2. When it comes to things I could do to improve, I think my three would include:
a) Getting my assignments in on time. This is probably my worst habit, since I am in IB I have very difficult courses and a very busy schedule and I always seem to put off musical assignments to the last minute. That's not really an excuse and I am aware I should try to get my assignments in on time from now on, so that's definitely a goal for me.
b) Practicing outside of rehearsal. This is also another point I'm not so on top of, I do not practice as much as I should on a day-day basis. I would also like to try and achieve working more on my own for and songs or dances I may be apart of.
c) Reading the blog more, I never know what I'm doing when I get the practice, so I think there's room for improvement when it comes to knowing what the schedule is for the day. I will also try to improve on that.
3. I for sure think I have grown since last year. Last year when I took part in the grade 9 musical, I was very shy, I didn't really come out of my shell, but by this year I've gotten to know everyone really well and I've made a ton of new friends and learned to express myself more and not think so much about what other people think! Also, in grade 9 I didn't enjoy musical that much, I dreaded going to rehearsal (which is a terrible thing to say) but I wasn't even planning on joining in grade 10! That was until the night of the first show. I got on stage and the curtains opened and I just found my place, I loved every second of being up there and from that moment I knew its what I wanted to be a pat of for as long as I could. So I have grown because now I love coming to rehearsals and I am way more outgoing.
